Fidgety?

I did get to communicate with many experienced homeschooling moms at co-op. I also picked up on some tips I have to try. One mom stated that her your child could not stay still. It reminded me of my nephew who goes through class upside down. She said her child would literally stand on her head during lessons, chat and stare off into well God knows where. This sounded like my child, partially anyway. You know the child that the public school system wanted me to have tested for ADD.

Ready for the tip? She was able to get her child off of his headstand by allowing him to chew gum during class. This is just great. Did I ever mention that I hated gum? YUK! I am sure that this will not help every child focus but it is worth a try. Now, I must overcome my fears of the sticky substance and try this with my 1st grader.

Has anyone tried this? Do you have any other focus tips?

Never did the gum thing, but that sounds like it's worth a shot.

Me? I loved playing with Legos while listening to Read-Alouds.
